Grounded in Purpose, Built for Clarity

We started Capitaliq because Malaysians deserve financial education that addresses real decisions — not abstract theory.

Our Story

Where Capitaliq Comes From

Capitaliq was established in Kuala Lumpur by a group of educators and financial practitioners who kept noticing the same gap: Malaysians at important crossroads — buying a home, comparing loan offers, trying to bring financial concepts into a classroom — often had access to plenty of information but very little structured support for applying it.

We built our first program for educators. That decision shaped everything that followed. Teaching financial literacy to teachers meant grappling with how financial concepts are actually communicated, not just what they contain. That insight — that delivery matters as much as content — runs through all three of our current programs.

Today, Capitaliq operates from our office at Jalan Stonor and works with individuals, working professionals, and educational institutions across Malaysia. We keep our programs small by design. Larger cohorts tend to reduce the quality of discussion and the relevance of feedback — two things we consider non-negotiable.

We are not a financial advisory firm and we do not provide investment recommendations. Our work is educational: we help people understand the financial concepts behind decisions they are already facing, and we give them tools to work through those decisions more thoroughly.

Our Mission

To provide Malaysians with accessible, practical financial education that supports sound, well-considered decision-making — without pressure, jargon, or generic advice.

Our Vision

A Malaysia where financial literacy is considered a normal part of professional development — where people approach major financial decisions with informed clarity rather than anxiety.

Our Values

Transparency in what we teach. Respect for participants' time and autonomy. Honesty about what financial education can and cannot do. Commitment to keeping content relevant and practical.

The People Behind Capitaliq

Our Core Team

Each member of our team brings a distinct background — in education, finance, or both — which is why our programs feel different from conventional financial seminars.

How We Operate

Standards We Hold Ourselves To

These are not credentials on a wall. They are the principles we use to evaluate whether each program is actually serving participants well.

Content Accuracy

All program content is reviewed against current Malaysian financial regulations, BNM guidelines, and relevant legislation such as the National Land Code before each cohort begins.

Cohort Size Limits

We cap participation at levels that allow genuine discussion. This means fewer participants per cohort, but a meaningfully different learning experience from large seminar formats.

Balanced Presentation

We present multiple perspectives on each financial topic rather than steering participants toward any particular product, lender, or provider. Our programs are independent of financial institutions.

Participant Privacy

Personal data submitted during enrolment and program participation is handled in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. We do not share participant data with third parties.

Regular Content Review

Financial conditions change. Program materials are reviewed at least once per quarter and updated when relevant market conditions, lending rules, or property guidelines shift significantly.

Post-Program Feedback

Every cohort concludes with a structured feedback process. Responses are reviewed by the program team and inform adjustments for subsequent runs. We treat participant feedback as a quality tool, not a formality.

Our Approach to Financial Education

Capitaliq operates within a specific and deliberate scope. We focus on three areas where Malaysians consistently lack structured support: understanding financial tools for teachers, evaluating borrowing products analytically, and approaching home ownership with realistic preparation. Each of these topics carries significant consequences for the people navigating them, yet accessible, practitioner-quality education in these areas has historically been sparse in Malaysia.

Our programs draw on the combined backgrounds of facilitators who have worked in banking, secondary and tertiary education, and financial planning support contexts. This mix matters because financial education that works in practice has to bridge technical content with the way people actually process and apply information.

We operate from Kuala Lumpur but work with participants from across Peninsular Malaysia. Our programs are delivered in English and structured for working adults who have limited time but genuine motivation to understand their financial environment more thoroughly. Sessions are scheduled with that context in mind.

Capitaliq is independent of banks, mortgage brokers, property developers, and insurance providers. This independence is foundational to how we design and present our content. We have no commercial incentive to steer participants toward any particular financial product or decision — which is what makes the educational relationship possible.
